July 31st-August 3rd, 6-8 pm.
Join the Ida B. Wells High School players and coaches for a youth football camp on July 31st-August 3rd, 6-8 pm, Ida B. Wells High School. This is a great way for everyone to meet your teammates, begin learning football fundamentals, plays, and drills. Camp fees are $75 and support the high school program. Registration will be forthcoming. Wear athletic clothing and your cleats if you have them. No other equipment is needed.
What is this thing called 3/4 Rookie Tackle?
Rookie Tackle” is a “bridge-game” between flag and 11 player tackle that creates a best – practice pathway that allows young players to get a feel for the great game of football by playing a number of different positions in every game, two point stances, no “special teams”, and with coaches on the field helping to instruct, inform and encourage each player. Each player still wears all the normal protective gear as any other tackle football player, the teams are smaller and the field size is shorter and narrower. This allows for a safer game and better learning environment for all our players. If you want more information please feel free to contact Michael Warren at commissioner@wellsfootball.com
